On his 90th birthday, local painter Manfred Feiler renounced gifts in lieu of donations to the Plauen Community Foundation. By the end of September, the foundation received €1,400. This will be used to support various clubs and associations in Plauen. The Board thanks Mr Feiler for this generous donation.

The board of the Plauen Community Foundation invited the regional press to a discussion on October 15. The journalists again received information on the many applications from the completed funding period. It is hard to imagine that there are so many clubs on site that deal with a wide variety of fields - sport, culture, reading, music, history, etc. 15 clubs were able to accept their funding commitment in June. Funding applications for 2015 can still be submitted until November 30, 2014. Then the men and women of the Plauen Community Foundation sift through the applications, ask questions and then invite the associations to a discussion during the decision-making phase. It is assumed that funding will amount to around 30,000 euros for the next year.

In addition, information was provided about the work of the foundation, how responsibly capital is being used and how important it is for citizens to get involved in the foundation. Dietrich Wetzel has just donated an amount of 2,000 euros and is proud to be part of the Plauen Community Foundation. He said: "The money that is put into the foundation is not lost, it will be there forever." A good opportunity to invest in the future of the city of Plauen.

For 2014, 22 project applications were submitted. The board of directors held project interviews with the applicants. This was followed by the selection of the project and the presentation and coordination with the Board of Trustees. There are around € 27,000 available for projects in 2014. The following association projects received funding from the Plauen Community Foundation on June 19.
