(2020-09-29) Again 15,000 euros for the clubs

"Where is the journey going?" - This question is primarily asked by investors who are currently experiencing global turbulence on the financial and capital markets due to the global corona crisis. A committee has been thinking about this for months in the top city too. Successful so far. The Plauen Community Foundation can go into the coming year with 1,750,000 euros in endowment capital. "We have a lot more effort to defend our good initial situation," the foundation board members make it clear that the problems have worsened again due to the virus pandemic. Many so-called consumer foundations in the Federal Republic are weakening because of the persistent low and negative interest rates. In case of doubt, no distributions will be made.

(2020-06-26) Plauen community foundation is number two in Saxony!

Foundation meeting on June 26, 2020

If someone makes a profit during the interest rate and corona crisis, that's pretty remarkable. The Plauen Community Foundation can support eight projects with EUR 16,000. This is only possible because the entire team around the chairman of the board, Prof. Dr. Bernd Märtner and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees Gerold Kny are all volunteering. The current 24 members once received money from the Hans Löwel Foundation as start-up capital. In 2012, committed citizens of the city came together in the Plauen Community Foundation to provide sustainable, selfless education, assistance to young people and the elderly, art, culture and monument protection, social issues as well as sport and nature conservation for the benefit of the people living in the city to promote and develop. They started with 1.4 million euros. Despite a few complicated financial years, the Plauen Community Foundation was able to increase its available capital to 1,674,000 euros, although most German foundations were hit very hard in 2019

They manage 68 billion euros of share capital. Are the 22,743 foundations in Germany now being phased out? The danger is great. Because for some time now you have been receiving negative interest for money saved on your account. The community foundation in Plauen is fighting against this decline in values. And as one of the few foundations in the country with success. "Our costs are very low because we are all volunteers," says Prof. Dr. Bernd Märtner on the main problem of most wealth institutions. The second advantage: “We keep receiving donations from the people of Plauen. They help to secure the share capital and increase it. In addition, there are fairly safe fund investments. Today I would like to thank all volunteers and all donors on behalf of the 64,931 Plauen citizens ”, emphasizes Bernd Märtner, Chairman of the Board.
